rev. 4/07

Setup

You will be responsible for helping the artists get their displays into the building, and for general setup of the show: putting up signs, setting up tables, etc.

You will probably be working outdoors at least part of the time so dress WARMLY! Gloves will be helpful regardless of the weather, as some artists have wooden displays that may have splinters. Wear your band shirt if you can, and remember to smile and represent the band well. Our show prides itself on the excellent service provided by our volunteers, so keep up the good work!

MAKE SURE that you sign IN and OUT when you come to work, and get a name tag with both your first and last name. Remind others to do the same. Remember, we cannot credit you for working unless you’re signed in and out properly! Also, please remember that you must work SIX HOURS to get a share of show proceeds. Working longer helps us all, and you are encouraged to do so!

All students should be assigned to a specific adult volunteer. Write this "supervisor's" name on the student name tag. Make sure you know where your "kids" and "parents" are!

When you’re not busy helping someone, please return to the sign-in area. That way, we know where to find you when someone does need help. Be willing to help wherever you’re asked, and keep your eyes open for people who might need help.

All volunteers will be issued a coupon for a free pop, for each shift worked. Volunteers working both layout and setup on Friday night will probably be fed pizza for dinner, and those working very long hours on Saturday will be entitled to a free meal from the food stand. Please don’t abuse this privilege. Sign out when you take a break, and back in again when returning to work. Be on good behavior the whole time you’re at the show.

As a safety precaution, make sure that you are with other volunteers anytime you are helping outdoors or in a remote area of the show. Please look out for one another, and report to the show managers any artist who makes you feel uncomfortable and/or unsafe.

Thanks for volunteering for this important job; if you need anything, please ask us!
